PhD Candidate

Completed MS in Electrical Engineering at Florida Polytechnic prior to joining FIU in 2021. Mauro’s research focus is investigating wearable device to monitor cognitive load during daily activities.

Mauro also enjoys the feeling of sand on his bare feet on the weekends.

Nivea Masud
PhD Student

Completed BS in Electrical Engineering at Universiti Tecknologi Malaysia prior to joining FIU in 2025. Nivea’s research focus is modeling of organic electronics.

Mauro aims to push the boundaries of knowledge and technology for a better tomorrow.

Andres Velasquez
MS Student

Completed BS in Electrical Engineering at Florida International University. While working at a local robotics company, Andres returned to FIU to explore his research interests and now explores applications of edge AI.

John Marcial

John worked in our lab as an undergraduate student on organic electronics. In 2024, John started at a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering.

Unfortunately, we could not contains John’s passion for robotics and he is now at Florida A&M University. 

Ishrat Biswas

Ishrat’s focused on all-organic and biodegradable sensing systems during her time in our lab in 2023.

After some time in Flexible Electronics Lab, Ishrat spent some time in Dr. Bhansali’s Lab at FIU, before joining Dr. Hodges’ Lab.
